Welcome to Clay County Board of Education's Website

Clay County Board of Education is located in east central Alabama.  We are a rural school system serving approximately 2100 students.  We have four main schools, with seven campuses.

Ashland Elementary Main Campus (2-6) and grades K-1 are served at the primary school location on Alabama Highway 77.

Clay County High School serves grades 7-12 is also located in Ashland and holds six state football championships, since 1994. Two of their students have held National Junior Beta Club Officer Positions, and four have held State Junior Beta Club Officer Positions, since 2000.  CCHS has received a 2007 ACCESS Distance Learning Grant, the new equipment will provide for a distance learning lab with laptops for each of the students.

Lineville Elementary School Main Campus serves grades K, 3-5, First and Second grades are served at the Barfield Campus and 6th grade is located on Washington Street, along with the Alternative Setting for our school system.

Lineville High School serves grades 7-12 is located on Main Street in Lineville.  They were awarded the ACCESS Distance Learning Grant, July 2006, which includes the installation of distance learning equipment and laptops in the new Gerald O Dial Agri/Science Building, providing students with some of the lastest technology available.

All Clay County School locations including the Central Office and Bus Shop are connected by 100 Mbps wireless network, centralized software includes STI for student management which includes STI Home, transportation software Fleetrunner, Atriuum for library media management, Reading Coach, SchoolCast for emergency staff and student notification and PLATO.  All elementary classrooms are equipped with 21st Century Equipment, to include items such as overhead projectors and screens, interactive boards or pads, digital document cameras, etc.  About 40% of the high school classrooms have this type equipment.   As funding is available the remaining classrooms will become equipped.
